You have to look good while traveling, right?
I love visiting these sites once in a while to “window shop” my afternoon away…
Simon’s – a Canadian company
Joe Fresh – another Canadian company!
Hudson Bay Company – yet again, another Canadian company…I sense a theme.
I love to be comfortable, yet not a total slob when I am traveling.
Yep – it’s pretty hard sometimes – like when I am camping for 2 months, but somehow I think I can narrowly pull it off (in my head).
Here are some of my favorites:
Yep - I also look so awesome like this model...(in my dreams) From H&M
Nice and casual...
Me in Grand Teton National Park - anything looks great in front of these mountains.
Strollin' in Sorrento, Italy
Piazza San Marco/St. Marc's Square - Venice, Italy
Right up my alley. Any object with the world on it. Mine please!
The Toronto International Film Festival is here yet again and has taken over Yorkville. I’ve seen some famous/important people in the past, but this year all I saw were some fancy cars, huge bodyguards and gorgeous clothes….in H&M….oops!
Instead of doing the usual star spotting that most people do, I usually head to that area for shopping! Stores compete to out-do the window displays, promote deals, and bring out the staff to ensure you buy buy BUY at their store.
It’s also fun to watch the people prancing around in the latest fashion as they search for those people of fame themselves. Or the paparazzi running around with their heads cut off up and down the street. And the traffic jam of cars cruising up and down Yorkville Avenue pretending that they are the important ones….
Here’s a deal that popped into my email for the long weekend. Mac Canada has free express shipping all long weekend for us ladies. Make sure you use the code MACCAN when you checkout. Read some of the long weekend travel beauty tips from Mac below.
Victoria Day weekend means getting outdoors!
Be prepared with products that have SPF and are longwearing. Here are some tips from our resident Canadian Makeup Artist, Melissa G:
Start with Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF 50 to avoid sunburn on the nose, while hanging out on the dock.
Use your Studio Moisture Tint SPF 15 all over the face and neck to make sure your skin is looking its best.
Grab some Bronzing Powder and dust it over your face to mimic that summer glow that hasn’t quite gotten there yet.
Apply Splashproof Lash in case you’re the one that loses the bet and has to get in the water first!
Top it off with a Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15 to keep the lips moisturized with a small amount of colour.
For longwearing Lipstick, try Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Overtime.
Packing is something that I dearly enjoy when setting off on a trip. Just the anticipation, knowing that in a few hours/days/weeks (noooo…I woudn’t pack THAT early, would I?) I will be blissfully wandering the streets of ________________.
I sometimes get it wrong though. A few summers ago, I planned a long weekend trip to San Francisco thinking that I would be so hot. Oops. Come on, I am a geographer, I should know these things! I just had California sun on my mind too much I guess, and once I looked at the current weather (17 degrees), I figured it would feel so much hotter there anyway. Ug. At least I took advantage of my misconception by shopping for a jacket around Union Square. At least my less than ideal packing skills became useful when I went for a wine tour around Sonoma and Napa Valley.
Here is one of my usual travel outfits. More versatile ever since my lesson learned in San Fran.
